Colorado DL suspended indefinitely after obstruction arrest

Colorado defensive lineman Samson Kafovalu has been suspended indefinitely after he was arrested for obstruction of a police officer Friday morning.

According to police, Kafovalu was arrested after he was denied entrance to a bar. From the Boulder Daily Camera:

According to Boulder police spokeswoman Shannon Cordingly, bouncers at the Sundown Saloon on the Pearl Street Mall called police after a heavily intoxicated Kafovalu was denied entry into the bar and was being uncooperative.

Officers tried to get Samson a taxi so he could go home, then offered to take him home. But he continued to be uncooperative and at one point "stood up aggressively" and was taken into custody, according to Cordingly.

Obstructing a police officer is a municipal charge.

Kafovalu had 33 tackles in 2015. A senior in 2016, he wasn't a member of the team in 2014 as he redshirted and took time to focus on his academics, according to Colorado's site. Kafovalu had 18 tackles in 2013 and had four starts as a freshman in 2012. He was a three-star strongside defensive end in the class of 2012 according to Rivals.

The paper reported Kafovalu was previously arrested for misdemeanor theft in 2012, but the charges were removed after a deferred judgment. He was also given a ticket for an incident with a security guard at a party in 2013.

Colorado's spring game is Saturday at Noon MT.
