After being declared ineligible for Oregon game, Tennessee’s Maurice Couch apologizes on Twitter
Tennessee's Maurice Couch has apologized on Twitter after being declared ineligible by the university for Saturday's game against Oregon.

Couch, a senior defensive lineman, was one of five players in Yahoo Sports' story that received money from agents through an intermediary. According to the story, Couch received cash wired from Davis on four occasions.
He was declared ineligible by the university on Thursday night. On his coach's show, Tennessee coach Butch Jones gave the reasoning behind the decision.
''As of right now, the situation with Mo Couch is we've declared him ineligible for this game,'' Jones said Thursday during his weekly interview with Nashville radio station 104.5. ''Right now our compliance group is currently in the process of working through all the details and logistics of the situation. That's all we kind of know right now, but as of right now moving forward, he will not make the trip to Oregon.''
Mississippi State's Fletcher Cox and Chad Bumphis, Tennessee's Tyler Bray and Alabama's DJ Fluker were also named in the story. On Thursday, Cox said "whatever happened, happened" while he was at Mississippi State. In April, Fluker tweeted that he had accepted money while at Alabama, but the post was quickly deleted and his agent said that Fluker didn't make it.
