Kevin Ware invited to White House Correspondents’ dinner as guest of CNN

There is nothing positive about suffering a ghastly injury during a nationally televised NCAA tournament game, but it's nice to see some doing what they can to ease Louisville guard Kevin Ware's pain.

CNN is the latest to offer Ware a unique opportunity in the wake of the compound fracture he suffered to his lower leg March 31 in an Elite Eight win over Duke. Ware has been invited to the April 27 White House Correspondents' Association dinner in Washington D.C. as a guest of the network.

The annual event is regularly attended by President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama as well as congressional leaders, members of the Washington press corps and famous faces from the entertainment world.

Ware and the rest of his teammates and Louisville coaches will visit the White House later this summer as part of the annual tradition of the president honoring national championship teams throughout the NCAA.

Ware has previously received calls from Michelle Obama and celebrities and he read the Top Ten List related to his injury on the "Late Show with Dave Letterman."
