Falcons' Roddy White bet a fan season tickets that Duke would beat Mercer

The NCAA tournament makes gambling degenerates of us all. As the saying goes, though, bet with your head, not over it. Put another way, don't let your tweets write checks that you can't cash. While chatting with a fan, the Atlanta Falcons' Roddy White made a bold prediction about Duke's NCAA chances:

The fan, being like most fans on Twitter, got a little mouthy. Most instances, the fans are just yelling into the void, because the athletes ignore them. This time, though, White took the challenge:

And, as you doubtless know by now, Duke lost. Somebody's got season tickets, right? Right ... ? Yeah, not so much:

BOOOOOO. Come on, Roddy. According to the Falcons' season ticket website, 50-yard-line front row is sold out, but a few rows back goes for $1305 a seat. White is slated to make $6 million in 2014. That's not tough math to run.

It's reminiscent of Aaron Rodgers, who bet a fan a year's salary that the Milwaukee Brewers' Ryan Braun was not using performance-enhancing drugs, only to find that was exactly the case. Rodgers did not pay up, of course.
