Mad Dash: Barack Obama gets Twitter, subtly trolls Cubs

White Sox fanship knows no love for the Cubs, and despite Barack Obama's current role as the country's foremost man of the people, he doesn't either. The President, who famously prefers the baseball franchise on the South Side of the Windy City, joined Twitter on Monday and proceeded to follow every team in Chicago - except for one. Judging by his outfit at the 2009 All-Star Game, we'd be awfully surprised if the omission was an accident.

Here's a piece of information that would have probably been best left omitted. During a Q&A session at the Facebook offices in New York, Carmelo Anthony revealed that his biggest fear is cats. He didn't say "big cats" with the implication that he was talking about lions and tigers. Just cats. The mental image of the 6 foot 8 inch, 240-pound NBA star jumping onto a chair to avoid a domestic kitten is about as good as comedy gets.

And finally, another humorous note from the NBA: Jason Kidd attended a birthday party 14 years after receiving the invitation. Daniel Marks, who in 2001 wrote Kidd to request his presence at Marks' 10th birthday, eventually gained employment from the Bucks as a basketball database manager. Well Marks turned 24 on Monday, and the pair were finally able to celebrate together.
