Martinsville could see several milestones this weekend

This weekend's Goody's 500 at Martinsville represents the sixth race of the 2011 season, and it's the 125th Sprint Cup-level race in the track's history. That's a fine milestone all by itself, but it's not the only one. Here, via Jayski, are some of the more notable events that should/could occur this weekend:

• The most significant of these is Mark Martin's scheduled 800th career Sprint Cup start. He's been racing at this level since April 5, 1981, when he finished 27th at North Wilkesboro Speedway. He has the most current victories over all three national series, with 96, and he's finished in the top three in the season-ending rankings nine times. He's 130 national-series starts behind all-time leader Richard Petty, with 1,055 starts to Petty's 1,185.

• In addition, Greg Biffle will make career Sprint Cup start no. 300, and national series start no. 625.

• Tony Stewart needs one more top-10 to have 250 such finishes for his career.

• Kyle Busch has an outside chance of leading his 20,000th career lap across the three national series; he's now 332 back. Busch hit 10,000 Nationwide laps led back at Bristol.
