F1's Heikki Kovalainen sustained 'heavy concussion' at ROC
On Monday, we told you of Carl Edwards' involvement in this past weekend's Race of Champions, a tournament pitting the best of the best drivers against one another. What we didn't tell you was that one of those all-stars, Formula 1's Heikki Kovalainen, sustained serious injury as a result of this crash:
Kovalainen was knocked unconscious for at least 30 seconds, and remains in bed under doctor's orders to treat the "heavy concussion." Also injured: his girlfriend and passenger, Catherine Hyde, who sustained a hairline fracture to her pelvis and broken leg muscles. Ouch. Unfortunately, while we're glad Heikki is all right, he just gave all our wives/girlfriends/significant others a world of ammunition when they tell us to slow down.
