After minor league stint, Faber makes big league pitching debut

WEC former champ Urijah Faber warmed up his pitching arm a few weeks ago, throwing out the first pitch for a minor league team in Stockton, Calif. Last night, he was called up to the big leagues as he threw out the first pitch for the Oakland A's. Along the way, he met A's outfielder Travis Buck, gave away tickets to his title fight with Mike Brown on June 7, and ran into Ken Griffey Jr. As for the pitch, Faber says that he "made it to the plate ... barely."
