Michael Thompson tied for the lead thanks to this bunker shot on Saturday at the Honda

The story coming out of this Honda Classic will most likely not be about the winners, thanks to the likes of Rory McIlroy and the disappearing act he played on Friday, but we still have a golf tournament with a pretty salty leaderboard.

One of the men atop it, Michael Thompson, was even par on his round heading into the par-4 6th hole when he found himself in a tough greenside bunker. No worries, as the 27-year-old knocked it right in the hole for a birdie, helping him to his round of even-par 70 that has him tied with Luke Guthrie at 8-under.

Thompson is looking for his first PGA Tour win, and if it comes this Sunday, he will definitely be looking back at that bunker shot as one that helped him over the weekend.
