LeBron James Family Foundation to benefit from new Web.com Tour Finals event
LeBron James will have a connection to a new Web.com Tour stop.
James' Family Foundation is the primary charitable beneficiary of the new DAP Championship, which will be played at Canterbury Golf Club in Cleveland from Sept. 8-11 as part of the Web.com Tour Finals series.
Canterbury G.C. has previously hosted two U.S. Opens, a PGA Championship and a U.S. Amateur.
"All the proceeds from ticket sales for the event will be given to the LeBron James Family Foundation," said Ron Rice, president and CEO of RPM International. "I’m most excited about the impact the event will have on our community, as well as the opportunity to partner with such a passionate group of people at the LeBron James Family Foundation."
The tournament will come after James, from nearby Akron, home to the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational on the PGA Tour, has finished his second full season in his second stint with the hometown Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Web.com Tour Finals is a four-event series combining the top 75 players on the Web.com Tour regular season money list and the players who finish from 126th to 200th place in the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup. Money earned in the series determines the fate fo 25 PGA Tour cards, as well the priority order for the top 25 players on the Web.com Tour regular season money list who enter the playoffs with PGA Tour status in hand.
