Alert: Pierre Garcon, Antonio Gates among the late-game inactives
It should come as no surprise to hear that Pierre Garcon (foot) is inactive for the Rams match-up in Week 2, but here's an unexpected note: Tight end Antonio Gates (ribs) will join Ryan Mathews among the inactives for San Diego.
TAKE EVASIVE ACTION, Gates owners. This is a small surprise.
Aldrick Robinson gets a starting opportunity, with Garcon out. He's definitely on the fantasy radar, following a respectable showing in Week 1. I can't give a strong endorsement to any member of the Chargers' offense this week, other than Malcom Floyd. That's a mess. Maybe we'll see a bit more Eddie Royal, or maybe Curtis Brinkley can make some noise.
In any case, get Gates out of your lineups. Any active, ambulatory tight end is preferable, Randy McMichael included.
Update: Or, um ... maybe Dante Rosario. Good grief. That's three TDs and counting. And I seem to be facing Philip Rivers everywhere. [Expletive].
