So Wayne Rooney got sent off for a completely unnecessary violent conduct offense the day after his father was arrested in relation to betting irregularities over a fixed red card in a Scottish Premier League match. There's no way that just happens. This was either a brilliant joke that Wayne plotted after all the ribbing and headlines about his dad or it was a genius and brazen continuation of the Rooney family's smart-money betting.
Whatever the case, England sealed their qualification for Euro 2012 even though they gave up a 2-0 lead after Rooney went off in the 73rd minute, which will keep him out of the first match or two of the tournament next summer.
