If
you're already looking to put together your '09 mock draft, the Rams are really
the only team that can claim they were in the same stratosphere of suck as the
Raiders this past week. It's shaping up to be a heated battle.
The Eagles had their way with the Rams offensively, with the Rams defenders kindly allowing Donovan McNabb to pretend he was a young man again. Three hundred-yard receivers and a 81-yard rusher is an indication of an offense that didn't face a whole lot of resistance. And the Rams offense was even worse than their defense. Head coach (for a few more weeks, anyway) Scott Linehan openly admits that the same effort won't win a single game for the Rams this year.
The glass-half-full-view? Number one draft pick, baby!
That's the positive spin that Dallas Morning News columnist Rick Gosselin is putting on things in light of the Rams being shockingly awful in every phase of the game on Sunday. He's already planning what they can do with the first pick in the '09 draft.
Right now, the Rams are the worst team in the NFL, which would entitle them to the first overall pick in the 2009 draft. The best senior currently on that draft board is Georgia Tech defensive end Michael Johnson.
Just four more months of sitting through painful football, and then you can start looking ahead to another young stud defensive lineman. Feel the glory, Rams fans.
But I think it's awfully disrespectful of Gosselin to just ignore the Raiders like that. Their performance on Monday night was a clear indication that they're not letting go of that #1 overall pick without a fight. This has the potential to be an epic battle.

1) Down by the goal and ready to score the replay clearly showed that the linebacker covering Zach Miller had a hand full of his jersey while the ball was in the air. Miller missed the pass because he was being held. No penalty and no touchdown.
2) Very next play, the lineman who sacked russel and force the fumble was clearly a yard offsides when the ball was snapped. 2 non calls and no score for the raiders.
3) On a great punt return by higgins the 2 refs closest to the play did not call blocking in the back but the one 30 yards away did.
After all that happend with the NBA ref scandal you gotta start to wonder about calls that don't go fo the raiders.
Al Davis, please fire Lane Kiffin, admit your mistake and hire Brian Billick before the 49er's do.

Granted, the Broncos got away with one

Wrong, replays showed it wasn't offsides - stop crying

And yet again, replays clearly showed he shoved him in the back - Also, both of those officals standing there should be reviewed, that was horrible how both of them missed it

Lol, Lane Kiffin, isn't the problem - The problem is AL Davis! Lane Kiffin wanted to fire Rob Ryan -Al Davis vetoed the decision.
Until Al Davis A) Passes away or B) Gives up control of the team - the Raiders will continue to suck. Notice how no high profile coach wants or is willing to accept the head coaching job for the Raiders? It is quite obvious Rob Ryan needs to go.

You know your team is in trouble when your head Coach has no control over his coaching staff.

Oh, don't forget to add the niners in the mix. Any team that turns over the ball 6 times it in the running for 0-16
