Ball Don't Lie - NBA

This is pretty wild. Just before halftime of Monday's Warriors-Jazz game, a ballsy fan sitting behind Golden State's basket blows a loud whistle right as Mehmet Okur strips the ball from Ronny Turiaf. Thinking a ref has just called a foul, nearly everyone on the court stops playing. Psyche!

The public address announcer warned the crowd against unauthorized whistles but Kyle Korver's uncontested dunk stood.

Can you imagine if this had happened late in the fourth quarter of a close game?

Utah proving once again they are the worst, most classless fans in the world.

In Utah some years back. Some Yahoo had a tenor sax under his seat. A few seconds before the halftime buzzer he played the same note on his horn to signal a false end to the quarter.

Just cause it was in Utah it was a Utah fan? Watch the video again. The whistle is blown when the warriors are driving to the hoop. Why would the Jazz fan want the Warriors to get a chance at a 3 pt play? Just saying I think it was a warriors fan. Makes more sense that way. Also, take away those 2 pts. the Jazz still win. I love that Utah has been classified as the worst fans ever, even though it's for the smallest things. Maybe I'll understand it better when one of our fans throws a cup of beer on Artest sparking a huge fan/player/mascot brawl.

    gaborik10m - I couldn't agree more.
The fans at the Jazz games are classless and this is just another example. What is soooo cool about this. Play fair and win with dignity.

Why in the world would a Utah fan blow a whistle when Golden State has the ball...simulating a foul on the Jazz. Thats just ridiculous logic.

to you dingleberries that think it was a G.S. fan because they had the ball. What do you think that the ref's are going to give G.S. two fouls shots becasue a whistle was blown? think about it

    Slim-
Of course the Refs weren't going to give them a foul shot . But why would the "utah" fan blow it when Warriors are driving to the basket? It's clearly not a Jazz fan. And before you said it was a drunk Utah fan. It's Utah. Drunk Utah fan = oxymoron.

They just gotta call a technical foul on the home team in those incidents. Sure an opposing team fan could sneak in a whistle, but they'd be risking an EPIC beat down from the home team fans.

    SVEN -
Basically, besides the whistle incident, I have noticed the last few years that Jazz fans are overly rowdy. They are practically coming out of their seats and on the court yelling, screaming, and name calling opposing players and coaches more so than NBA fans. There just seems to be an attitude with their fans that goes too far.
I probably shouldn't have used the word "classless" because it is too stong because other NBA fans get worked up too. Overall, after watching some Jazz home games, I found myself rooting against the Jazz because I was annoyed by their fans.
    No disrespect to anyone.

Jazz Fans were also the ones that were yelling racial slurs at the Golden State Warriors in round 2 of the 06-07 playoffs. And also, remember game 5 against the Spurs? They got so mad, they started throwing things at the Spurs bench causing Papovich to have to pull his players into the locker room without any post game interviews for fear of their safety. Jazz fans are the worst fans in the league. Now warriors fans, those are some REAL fans, where else can a unbelieveably bad team still sell more tickets than some winning teams? Only in the Bay where their love of basketball blinds them from how bad the franchise is being run by Rowell and Cohan. GO DUBS!

I watched the game and heard a whistle and it was close but not the same as a ref's whistle. The whistle came just when Utah secured the rebound and No Ref had his hand up. I'm a Warrior Fan and yes this was weird and I thought was funny, but every Arena has one goof ball that ruins it for everyone. I don't think this one dunk cost the Warriors the Game. I love the Warriors, but Utah took a hold of the game in the 4th quarter and thats it. Utah is the better Team and was that night. To call all Utah fans loosers or classless, I wouldn't say that, again its those one of a few that think, being a fan, gives you a right to say anything to a pro player cause 1. he can't talk back without getting fined. 2. He can't hear you anyway and 3. I'd like to see any fan "one on one" in the street w/a pro player and then talk your smack and see what happens! lol

you peple talkin about fisher are MORONS!!! when the fans booed it was even worst than the artest incident. Fisher NEVER said he was done get the facts right. His 4 year old daughter had a rare form of Cancer in her eye and he asked out of a lucrative contract so he could play in one of 3 cities where his daughter would be able to get the care she needed.(Mia,NY, or LA) He chose the lakers based on familiarity with the system and his relationship with phil and kobe. This is a guy that came back after being with his daugheter to hit one of the biggest shots in Recent Utah playoff memory. Then you Boo Him??? For caring about his daughter??? the guy walked away from Millions and took 1/3 the contract.
