Ball Don't Lie - NBA

As most of you know, I co-host a daily NBA podcast at The Basketball Jones. This season, for reasons unknown, Tas, JD and I have decided to try our luck with video. I figured I might as well share it here with you. As always, your questions, comments and feedback are appreciated. Hit us up.

On today's show, Tas and I fill you in on the thriller only the nighthawks saw. Did that improbable win "save" the Blazers' young season? Can Brandon Roy finally be called clutch, Chuck? How did Roy possibly have gotten that shot off in 0.8 seconds? We also take you on the set of Mark Eaton's new movie and name the fresh Eastern faces you'll see at this year's All-Star game. Enjoy.

The Rockets should've protested the time after Yao hit the shot and was fouled at the end of the game. i was yelling, have the ref's check the clock, there is no way that .8 seconds should be left. The Rockets inbounded the ball to Yao with 1.9 seconds, he turned and I believe took a dribble before shooting and the clock showed .8 seconds after all that. I was watching the replay and the clock was stopped before he even shot the ball, the time should've expired. The Rockets need to look at replay of Yao's shot and file a protest with the league, huge mistake in my opinion!!!

On Yao's shot, the clock was stopped (correctly) after the foul was called on Roy. That's why there was 0.8 seconds left-- without the foul, time would have expired and double OT would have been played.

You're all wrong! It's pronounced "ori-gin." No one outside of this state seems to know how to pronounce it.
Tas, I'm gonna disagree that Iggy will make the All-star team over Granger. He's been passed by Thaddeus Young on offense. Coincidentally, Thaddeus has pretty much passed Brand as well and is their number one option as the team struggles to mesh. I don't see that continuing long term, but still...Granger is the MAN in Indy.

Toolage, you too are wrong. Its "Ory-Gun" - we have bumperstickers with that on it

Those make it look like oree-gun. Ori-gin is the most phonetic I can make it. The dictionary says ȯr-i-gən, whatever that means. Anyways, I also think Calderon should definitely make the All-star team :)

When pronouncing "Oregon" think "Wagon" not "Polygon."

Ya pronounced 'Oregon' right the first time. It ends like "again", "Or-again".
Oregonians hate it when people say Ore-eh-gone. I thought it was a joke to get Oregonians to say HEY DURR DAT NOT HOW U SAY MY NAME, but perhaps there was real confusion there.
