Ball Don't Lie - NBA

Listen up. File this away. Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett(notes) is tired of answering questions about his lingering knee issues ... so fall back like you lost your balance, bloggers and reporters.

"They're getting old," Garnett told Steve Bulpett of The Boston Herald when a question about his pregame knee treatment was raised in the media scrum.

"OK? Y'all know what I'm dealing with here. I said (Sunday) that no one in this league at this point ... is 100 percent. Hell, I get worked on even when I didn't have surgery. It's just rituals and stuff like that. I always get treatment before games. If you see Paul [Pierce] and [Rajon] Rondo, I think they get massages before games. My ritual is no different from that."

You got that? Good. And while you're at it, stop asking about his pregame meal. It's a lion. Big deal.

I am a Celtics fan, but even I think that's pretty silly to ask on Garnett's part. People will stop asking how his knee is doing when he starts playing like he was before he injured it.

I give the guy about another week or two to get his rhythm back and start dominating. He's had flashes, but is stil building up to being the dominator he has been in the past.

When KG went out b/c of his knee last Spring, his brother-in-law Jimmy Jam came out and said he was done for the rest of the season based on inside knowledge of how severe the damage was. The Celtics organization lied to their fans for months afterwards by downplaying the injury and dangling the carrot of KG's return when there was zero chance he was coming back last year. So the media being skeptical and mining for the truth is a natural reaction. Bottom line, we don't believe you KG.

Are people allowed to ask him why, outside of his rookie year, he's averaging CAREER LOWS in both scoring and rebounding?!?! Funny how attention whores love attention, until the difficult question comes around. Yeah, I'm looking at you, too, Lebron.

KG was a dominant force just never in the final moments. His all-around talent was devastating for 40 - 45 minutes but Garnett lacked clutch-ability. This is why Sam Cassell was such a successful teammate of Garnett's. KG would usually annihilate the opponent in the first 45 minutes and Cassell would hit the money shots if needed.
Having said all that, KG ain't what he used to be. It's clearly visible in the games this season where he's not able to flush lobs and instead have to come down with the ball and go back up again. The lateral movement is less quick, too. Still better than half the starting PFs out there based on puire talent at this point and with twice the attitude and passion.

All of you Garnett haters need to stop Dick riding... Hes been a dominant force in the league for years and his legs are getting old he doesnt need to carry a team Like he had to with the wolves for years.. Hes still a beast point blank period... He doesnt have to put up all these points and make all these flashy plays like he HAD to do when he was with the Wolves... Get off his dick and learn something you freaking Jungle People....

If you take away two of his bad point games (3, and 9) he's averaging 1 point less than last years average. This coming off major knee surgery. What do you expect!
His rebound numbers are down, but as a team they have sucked rebounding, something they got to work on, its called boxing out...
Two of the Celtics losses vs Pho and Orlando they just missed shots, plain and simple. They didn't get blown away, or were out classed; they beat themselves by shooting horrible.
Will they win, maybe. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!
