UFC president Dana White was at a loss for words in the UFC 87 post-fight press conference when asked about Brock Lesnar. Lesnar handled veteran Heath Herring easily winning 30-26 on all three scorecards.

White said on Thursday that he didn't agree with Lesnar's notion that he should fight the best right off the bat in UFC. Three days later White is a Lesnar convert.

"I'm telling you I'm blown away by his performance tonight," said White. "One of our guys said it looks like he's hitting him with lunch boxes. The guy is a phenomenon. I'll be honest, I didn't think he could come in here with no fights and compete at this level, he proved me wrong."

It sounds like most of the fighters are also on board with Lesnar's potential:

"After that first fight against Mir, I had all the guys come up to me... Hughes, Liddell, Rampage and said this guy is going to be scary in a couple of years. He's a monster. I don't know what guys are going to want to fight him."

The word swirling around the media room was that UFC may try to make a Cheick Kongo-Lesnar fight next.

CLICK BELOW TO HEAR ALL OF WHITE'S COMMENTS FROM THE PRESSER:

UFC gave out $60,000 awards for the following:

FIGHT OF THE NIGHT - Georges St. Pierre v. Jon Fitch

KNOCKOUT OF THE NIGHT - Rob Emerson

SUBMISSION OF THE NIGHT - Demian Maia

The attendance at the Target Center was 15,082. The gate of $2.2 million set a new arena record surpassing a Billy Joel/Elton John show.

White also talked about what's next for GSP.

He said St. Pierre was definitely going to face UFC lightweight champion B.J. Penn next and that the fight probably wouldn't be in Montreal.

White gave major props to referee Yves Lavigne for not pulling the trigger on a stoppage in the first round when Fitch was in big trouble.

The subject of Tito Ortiz did come up during the press conference. White said he has not sat down and spoken with Ortiz but UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta may do so soon.

You can also listen here to the archives of the only UFC 87 post-fight show from the Target Center on Saturday night. Guests included ref Dan Miragliotta, Florian, trainer Greg Jackson and St. Pierre.

Other pre-fight interviews here include Herring, White, Tonya Evinger, Amir Sadollah and Matt Serra.

Brock Lesnar is flat out scary. dude is a stud. i dont really think he would win, but im gonna say it anyway. lesnar could fight fedor right now and push him farther than anyone else at heavyweight. just being that big and that athletic puts him on another level. he may be unstoppable one day. sooner than later im guessing

Easy on the Lesnar mania.. Yeah it was impressive, but the guy hasn't even been hit yet. He had Herrings back all night long and didnt come close to submittiing him. I bet a lot of people want to see Lesnar vs. Slice.. Toughman competitions are alive and well in the world of "MMA"..
The Truth... You name is an oxymoron..

HE was pretty impressive considering this was only his third MMA fight. I mean look at what Herring rescently did to Nogueira, he should have really won that fight. Then last night Brock just manhandled him like he was a lightweight. Pretty impressive(I was a Brock hater) I may have to take sides with this dude. I gotta say last night was one of the best nights of fights in a while.

Mike F. I don't know what PPV you were watching cause the one I watched last night was great. One of the best I have seen in a while. There is no way we saw the same PPV.

Jeez.. everyone needs to check their Tivo's again. Lesnar's fight was NOT that impressive. He caught Herring with a lucky punch after Herring anticipated a shoot that didn't come. Big deal. Lesnar got lucky with that punch. And think of it this way.. Herring can't really mentally prepare for a fight against a post-WWE fighter with no real UFC fights under his belt. All he could have done was expect Lesnar to shoot for a takedown.
Lesnar is a VERY sloppy fighter with a mediocre-at-best stand up game and a submission background that's laughable. For all the wrestling experience this thug has, he should have dominated on the ground.. but he didn't.

    Also, Lesnar has ZERO class.
His post-fight interview with Rogan just made him look like an ignorant moron.
Obviously Lesnar hasn't heard the saying, "Best to keep your mouth shut and let everyone think you're stupid, than to open it and prove them right."

Matthew I kind of agree. I think for the MMA "purists" out there Lesnar poses a problem.. He was a great amateur wrestler.. But he definitiely is not of the MMA Purist mold. He is just a big dude that was a great free style 'wrasler' that imposes his big body and strength on people. I would like to see him fight someone that can give him angles, and actually test his chin. No one has yet to tap his "ball pen hammer" chin.. He was on Herrings back all night, and the wrestling backround was evident, but he did not try any semi sophisticated submission attempts.. Having said that, I dont think many people will be eager to fight him.. As for class, well...... He is from the world of professional rasslin'....

Lesnar has untapable potential..we still dont know about his chin though..we do know the guy is a beast.
didnt really care for his WWE antics at the end though..if he's still training hard and fighting in 2 years he could be champ...long way to go though because we all know Fedor would pummel the guy

I think it's funny how you bag on Lesnar a rookie with little expierence going in and defeating Herring who's considered a veteran in this sport. You ever think that because Lesnar's never got hit in the chin is lucky come on he's charging at his opponents and not giving them a chance to hit him. Give him some time and training and he'll be great. And he can't be any dumber than tito Ortiz....

From what I've been hearing, Heath talked crazy smack to Dana that Brock was beneath him as an opponent. So you can possibly blame that as the reason why Brock reacted like that in the end.

I keep seeing bloggers saying "lesnar didn't finish herring". I saw herring after that fight just like everyone else. I think it is safe to say that herring will be on a medical suspension for a few weeks. So is being finished temporarily by a rookie good enough for the MMA blog expert analysts. Please correct if I am wrong!! Heath Herring didn't look like that before the fight started or from the just being taken down on or held down. That fake "rassler" better start what? To improve on what he is now only means pain-pain-pain and CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

i was disappointed lesnar didn't finish him but i think he was just being overly cautious to not get caught in a submission after what happened in his first bout. all the complaining about it is silly though, i didn't see anying bashing gsp for not finishing fitch who he had out on his feet more than once, and he had 5 rounds to do so not 3. he's also considered one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world. people are too critical of lesnar, but it wont stop him from becoming a contender and eventually the champ..

I agree with Dan C.. All I hear is about how bad Brock was ... Well he actually beat someone who has fought 40 fights.. that is alot of expirence.. He lost to a rookie... Which looks worse in my opinion.. let's just suppose Brock had 40 fights underneath his belt...I would not be talking about Fedor... I give credit for doing all the right moves he did to win.. you all know in UFC that it takes one mistake to lose a match.. but when you take a beating like Herring did with is stature...People talk about his size and strengh well if he was all that good it should not be an issue... he did state that Brock was under him and has fuoght bigger and stroner guys... what happen dude??? talk is cheap... 5yr olds can talk trash... I did not see too much action... you then have to wonder how good Brock is and going to be...???
