The gravy train is rolling down the tracks. Yahoo! Sports' Kevin Iole broke the story last night that the UFC landed Kimbo Slice and he's been thrown on "The Ultimate Fighter 10." He made his first video appearance since the news broke on a Dana White vlog for WEC 41. Kimbo "caught" while rolling dice in what looks like a hotel room (6:20 mark) is ready to fight again:

"It's an opportunity for me to prove myself as a mixed martial artist," said Slice, who was 3-1 with EliteXC after gaining internet fame on YouTube for his backyard brawls. "Coming from the backyard, coming from being a street fighter. It's time to step up my game."

Kimbo says he's ready to prove the haters wrong:

"There's a lot of people out there that have a lot of questions if I can fight mixed martial arts-style. I'm coming in to kick ass and take names."

Dana White consistently blasted Kimbo, the big man is fired up to prove his new boss wrong:

"It's all good. DW can say what the [expletive] he wants. As far as I'm concerned from the [expletive] that he's saying, the greatest revenge to my knowledge is success. I don't care about [expletive]-talking. I don't care about [expletive]-talkers. Evidently he wasn't willing to step to the plate, but he's going to put me against whoever."

Kimbo says it's motivation:

"In a sense it is. If I gotta run through whoever, If I gotta run through them just to prove myself, than that's what I gotta do. I'm hungry out there, [expletive] it's a recession."

Taping for "Ultimate Fighter 10" began yesterday in Las Vegas. White said squads were chosen for Team Rampage (Quinton Jackson) and Team Evans (Rashad Evans). The show is set to air in mid-September on SpikeTV and the TUF 10 Finale is slated for Dec. 5 at the Palms in Sin City.

Welcome the the Kimbo era, ears will be a poppin' this fall on Spike TV. UFC has hit the big time folks. We demand Kimbo at least thrice a day, everyday for here on out.
The Kimbo era is now in full affect. Cover your ears and hide your 40's because Kimbo is coming into your living room (or Mom's basement for most). The violent sociopath Rampage Jackson & the wife beating child hater Evans as coaches, oh my! Who gets the Slicer, how will the other "contestants" fare againt the Kimbosity? For that matter, what sort of hilarious hi-jinx are we all going to witness in the TUF as these dozen or so grown men eat, sleep and wrestle each other?
Just a week we were all wondering where the hell Kimbo went. Now we know.... Kimbo has arrived.

Props to Kimbo for trying to earn his way, I can respect that. Also, props to Dana White for giving him the opportunity. Granted, they will both make alot of money from this, but I like the idea of Kimbo trying to earn his way rather than the free rides and big paydays elsewhere. Oh, and boxers are just guys who couldn't make it in MMA, thats why they box.

Kimbo might make it to the finale just because it will be huge marketing for the UFC. They probably will have a few lame ducks in there for him to beat on. But I hope he gets bumped out the first round.

Some boxing is awesome....some MMA is awesome....why do you all go back and forth? I really don't see Kimbo going far in this....but honestly I hope he does well because that means he won't be a huge scar on the face of MMA. He just neets to learn the game and needs to do it fast. Good luck to him. No one is paying my ass to fight!

Kimbo is big news and well worth all the posts he's getting. BTW I'm pretty sure Kimbo is getting paid to be on TUF, and I' guessing it's some serious $$$. Kimbo doesn't want respect, he wants $$ and Dana wants ratings. The two sides came to a very simple agreement.

Jamie is an idiot boxing has been around for hundreds of years so how are boxers guys who couldnt make it in mma if boxing was a sport first? And I dont see why people are so hard on Kimbo because i doubt any of you would fight him and i also doubt that if you were offered six figures to be a companies star that you wouldnt take it.

you know what. Kimbo will get the beating of his life on this show. All of you peps ponificating that the ratings will be great if they can "coax" Kimbo along towards the season ending show imo are dead wrong!! He will get KTFO as soon as he steps into the octagon..and the sooner the better. it will make the master, Dana look like he is the know-it-all. You wait and see....

Great blog. DW has made a great move for the TUF ratings, this will be the best season yet. In terms of marketing you couldN't put together a more entertaining season. Rampage will be a great asset to the show, I've always loved his style, and hope he can transform it into coaching.

I could care less about the Kimbo thing right now that is way in September... The news I want to know about is what is Dana talking about starting at the 8:28 mark saying something about some deal that will change the UFC and MMA forever or something like that(Please say that it has something to do with Fedor)
