Player Notes
Scott Van Slyke (ankle) appeared as a pinch hitter in Friday's loss to the Padres, drawing a walk in his lone plate appearance.

Advice: Van Slyke tweaked his ankle while running down a ball in the outfield on Wednesday, but X-rays came back negative. He should be cleared to return to the starting lineup at some point over the weekend should manager Don Mattingly decide to utilize him.
