Advice: "I was throwing all my pitches where I wanted to throw them today, my mechanics felt smooth, everything was coming out at the right time. It felt good," Paxton said after the session. The left-hander hasn't pitched since April 8 due to a strained lat. He may have some rust early, but Paxton was pitching well early and could be a valuable contributor for the M's down the stretch.

Advice: Paxton gave up six hits and walked three, but the most important thing is that he was pain-free. The left-hander is expected to rejoin the Mariners' starting rotation on August 2 in Baltimore and could hold considerable fantasy value down the stretch. He had a 2.25 ERA, 0.67 WHIP, and 13/2 K/BB ratio over his first 12 innings (two starts) this season before straining his lat in early April.

Advice: Paxton will make what is expected to be his final rehab start Sunday for Triple-A Tacoma. He'll throw 75-80 pitches in the outing and should be activated next weekend if all goes well. The left-hander has been on the shelf since early April with a strained left lat.
