Freese is back in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres, FSN's B.J. Rains reports.
Recommendation: Freese sat out two straight days amid a 3-for-34 slump at the plate, but he will return to the lineup Wednesday after his short mental break. Freese will bat fifth against Padres starter Jeff Suppan.

3B David Freese, after getting two days off following a three-for-34 dive, homered and singled and drove in two runs. Asked if Freese had been all right with the temporary benching, Matheny said, "He didn't an option. I think he knew he needed it."
