Upton has gone 6-for-20 (.300) with a homer, four RBI and a 7:4 BB:K and a pair of stolen bases over the last six games.
Recommendation: According to the D-Backs' official site, Upton is seeing the ball better at the plate which has significantly changed his plate discipline from where it's been throughout the first six-plus weeks of the season. "It's a combination of seeing the ball better and pitchers just not throwing strikes," Upton said. "I think early on I was chasing out of my zone a little bit. I have done a better job of making sure the pitches are in the zone. I also haven't been seeing many pitches over the plate." The surge over the past week could be foreshadowing a breakout for the struggling outfielder, as Upton's current .705 OPS is nearly 200 points below where he finished in 2011.

RF Justin Upton's game-winning home run in the ninth inning Thursday came with a bat he accidentally flung into the stands when he swung and missed in the eighth. The bat landed 13 rows into the seats behind the D-backs' dugout, and a female fan was seen carrying out of the stands.
But she gave the bat back, and Upton used it in the ninth. "I needed it; I only have two bats left," Upton said after breaking several on the current trip.
