Player Notes
Twins optioned OF Aaron Hicks to Triple-A Rochester.

Advice: Once again, Hicks had an opportunity to seize the team's starting job in center field with a strong spring, but hit just .206/.300/.324 with a 9/5 K/BB ratio in 34 spring at-bats. It appears as though Jordan Schafer will function as the team's starting center fielder to begin the season.

Aaron Hicks went 0-for-3 with a strikeout Friday and misplayed a ball in center field.

Advice: Barring a very surprising reversal putting Danny Santana back in the outfield, the Twins lack a quality alternative to Hicks in center field. Still, they might opt to go to Jordan Schafer if they get frustrated enough. Hicks started off hot this spring, but he's in a 2-for-22 slump, leaving him with a .206/.300/.324 line this spring.

Aaron Hicks went 0-for-3 on Friday and is 1-for-11 in his last four games.

Advice: Hicks got off to a 5-for-12 start this week, but he's cooled off over the last week. The Twins probably wish they had more competition for Hicks in center field, but there isn't really anyone to start over him, not unless they reverse course and move Danny Santana back to center.
