Player Notes
Justin Upton had a monster game against the Dodgers on Sunday, hitting a first-inning grand slam, doubling and driving in six.

Advice: Upton had six RBI by the end of the second inning, clubbing a grand slam off Carlos Frias in the first inning, then smacking a two-run double in the second. These would be his only hits of the game, as he finished 2-for-4. Good on the Dodgers for closing that barn door after the horse was halfway to Mexico. The early MVP race in the National League is something to behold at the moment and Upton's certainly in the running with 12 homers, 35 RBI, 32 runs scored, nine steals and a .284/.343/.562 slash.

Justin Upton went 1-for-4 and smacked a two-run home run in a loss to the Cubs on Wednesday.

Advice: His fourth inning blast off Tsuyoshi Wada provided the only runs the Padres got in the 3-2 loss. Upton didn't do much either, striking out in two of his remaining three at-bats. The 27-year-old has three homers in his past two games and looks as good as he has since that 31-homer campaign with Arizona in 2011.
