Gallardo allowed one run and five hits with a career-high 12 strikeouts in a 1-0 loss to the Mets on Wednesday.
Advice: Gallardo's 12 strikeouts were the most by a pitcher against the Mets since John Smoltz struck out 15 for the Braves on April 10, 2005. He is 4-3 with a 1.70 ERA in his last eight starts and has struck out 37 in 26 2-3 innings over his last four outings.

Gallardo struck out 12 and held the Mets to one run on five hits over seven innings on Wednesday.
Recommendation: On most days, that's more than enough to win with the Milwaukee offense, but Wednesday presented a Rubik's Cube in the form of Mike Pelfrey, who delivered 7.2 shutout innings to saddle Gallardo with a loss. Milwaukee went 2-for-16 with five strikeouts from the No. 5 through the No. 9 spot in their lineup on Wednesday which certainly didn't help the cause.

RHP Yovani Gallardo had no double-digit strikeout games before this season. He whiffed 11 against Pittsburgh on April 12, and he posted a career-high 12 strikeouts Wednesday in a 1-0 loss to the Mets.
