Player Notes
Jacob deGrom (shoulder) will be activated and start Saturday against the Dodgers.

Advice: Everything has gone well with deGrom's recovery from rotator cuff tendinitis. His return will be welcomed by fantasy owners, as the 26-year-old is 6-5 with a 2.87 ERA and 94/33 K/BB ratio over 100 1/3 innings thus far this season.

Jacob deGrom (shoulder) is on pace to rejoin the Mets' rotation on Saturday versus the Dodgers.

Advice: DeGrom threw a 20-pitch bullpen session Sunday morning with no issues. He'll throw off the mound again in the middle of this week, potentially clearing the way for his return next weekend. The young right-hander has been out with rotator cuff tendinitis. "We were just seeing how it felt," deGrom said about Sunday's session. "I threw changeups when I was playing catch, and those felt fine. Either Tuesday or Wednesday I'll throw everything."

Jacob deGrom (shoulder) should be ready to begin throwing off a mound Sunday.

Advice: DeGrom has been out since August 8 with right rotator cuff tendinitis. He threw from flat ground Saturday with no issues and the hope is that he'll be ready to rejoin the Mets' rotation when first eligible on August 24.

Jacob deGrom (shoulder) said Tuesday that he's already feeling better.

Advice: DeGrom was placed on the disabled list with rotator cuff tendinitis, but he's taking anti-inflammatories and receiving physical therapy and has already noticed improvement. "I already feel a lot better with just the couple of days' rest that I've had [compared to] doing the tests the other day at the hospital," deGrom said. "My strength is a lot better than when I first did them." The right-hander is hopeful of missing just two starts and returning on August 24 when first eligible.

Mets placed RHP Jacob deGrom on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to August 8, with right rotator cuff tendinitis.

Advice: The Mets will put deGrom on anti-inflammatories and the hope is that he could be ready to rejoin the rotation when he's first eligible in two weeks. In other words, it's not viewed as serious. Rafael Montero has been called up from Triple-A Las Vegas and will take his place in the starting rotation.

Jacob deGrom will be placed on the disabled list with right rotator cuff tendinitis.

Advice: It's good news under the circumstances. The rookie right-hander will presumably rest for a few days before being re-evaluated. The Mets will call up Rafael Montero to take his place in the starting rotation.

Jacob deGrom has been sent back to New York to undergo an MRI after feeling soreness in his right shoulder.

Advice: Well, that's no good. DeGrom last pitched on Thursday and the soreness started to crop up a couple days later. It appears the Mets will hold off placing him on the disabled list for now, as they hope it's just a one-start absence. Ultimately, they figure to play things safely with the youngster even though deGrom doesn't think it's a serious injury. Carlos Torres could make a spot start Tuesday if deGrom misses just one start, or the Mets could look to Jesus Montero or Noah Syndergaard if the absence will be longer.
