Player Notes
Andrew Heaney pitched seven innings of one-run ball, allowing only two hits to earn a win over the Yankees on Tuesday.

Advice: Heaney has looked sharp in two major league starts thus far. The Yankees' only run came courtesy Mark Teixeira's home run in the second inning. Along with allowing only two hits, Heaney walked two and struck out seven. Though he has been traded twice already, the lefty is a well-regarded prospect, so it wouldn't be surprising if he kept it up for a while. Mixed leaguers should feel comfortable adding him. Heaney's next start, however, will come at Coors Field against the Rockies.

Andrew Heaney allowed just one run over six innings Wednesday in a no-decision versus the Astros.

Advice: Anaheim didn't win the game until the bottom of the 13th inning. Heaney cruised while he was in, yielding only four hits and one walk while whiffing five. He gave up an RBI double to Carlos Correa in the top of the sixth inning, but that was all the offense Houston could muster on the afternoon. Heaney didn't have great numbers this season at Triple-A Salt Lake, but the former top prospect is an intriguing talent and should get a few more looks while Jered Weaver recovers from a hip injury.

Angels recalled LHP Andrew Heaney from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Advice: Heaney will get the ball on Wednesday against the Astros and is in line to receive a few starts in place of Jered Weaver (hip). The left-hander has been inconsistent at Salt Lake this season, posting a 4.71 ERA and 74/25 K/BB ratio over 78 1/3 innings. Wednesday's originally scheduled starter, Matt Shoemaker, has been pushed back to Friday.
