Player Notes
Jon Gray was tagged for six runs in 3 2/3 innings by the Pirates on Wednesday.

Advice: Gray allowed hits to nine of the 21 batters he faced, and he's sporting an 11.42 ERA in two starts since coming off the disabled list. He's still one of the best bets among Rockies starters, but if he's not better next time out, there's the chance he could be replaced in the rotation.

Jon Gray finished Friday's start with a mixed performance, as he struck out 10 but he also surrendered a couple of homers and five earned runs against the Dodgers.

Advice: This was Gray's first start of the 2016 season. He'd missed much of the spring with an abdomen injury, but he managed to strike out 10 batters in just five innings of work on Friday. While that's encouraging, the right-hander still calls Coors Field home, which resulted in a pair of homers and seven hits. That's just the cost of doing business in the high altitude. We'll wait to see how he does away from home before we draw too many conclusions.

Rockies activated RHP Jon Gray from the 15-day disabled list.

Advice: Gray will make his season debut on Friday versus the Dodgers after recovering from an abdominal strain. While an exciting young arm, Gray posted a 5.53 ERA and 1.62 WHIP over his first 40 2/3 major league innings in 2015 and isn't a recommended option in mixed leagues.

Fri, Apr 22 Rotoworld
Jon Gray (abdomen) will make his regular-season debut on Friday against the Dodgers.

Advice: Rockies manager Walt Weiss confirmed the assignment on Wednesday morning. Gray could make for a decent fantasy streaming option this season in the right matchups, but it's probably best to ignore him Friday night at Coors Field with a good Los Angeles lineup coming to town. The young right-hander posted a 5.53 ERA, 1.62 WHIP, and 40/14 K/BB ratio over his first 40 2/3 major league innings in 2015.
