Player Notes
Mike Napoli has been diagnosed with a dislocated left ring finger.

Advice: That much could be seen by looking at the gruesome picture of Napoli's finger after he slid into second base following a ninth-inning wild pitch. However, the good news is that X-rays on the finger came back negative, and the first baseman is being listed as day-to-day. Mike Carp will handle first if Napoli has to sit out a day or two.

Mike Napoli left Tuesday's game against the White Sox after appearing to dislocate his left ring finger on a slide into second base.

Advice: Napoli advanced to second on wild pitch, sliding in head-first but coming up with his finger pointing in the wrong direction. If it's just a dislocation, it's possible he can avoid the disabled list. If it's a fracture, a DL stint will obviously be required. Mike Carp would figure to take over at first base while Napoli is sidelined.

Mike Napoli belted a solo homer off Ivan Nova in a losing effort against the Yankees on Sunday night.

Advice: Napoli finished the night 2-for-4, also doubling. He's off to another very strong start at the plate this season, slashing .300/.386/.520 with three homers and nine RBI.

Mike Napoli went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Napoli is swinging the bat well, batting .364 through eight games. His numbers over the past two seasons haven't matched his 2011 output, but he is still a good bet to hit 20-plus homers with 75-plus RBI.
