Player Notes
Mike Napoli was ejected from Friday's game against the Rangers for arguing a called third strike call with home plate umpire Todd Tichenor.

Advice: Manager John Farrell came to his player's defense and was also given the gate. Before departing, Napoli had gone 0-for-2 with a pair of walks and a run scored.

Mike Napoli had an RBI single in Tuesday's loss to the Twins.

Advice: Napoli's RBI single in the second inning was the only run the Red Sox could push across against Twins starter Mike Pelfrey. The run batted in was Napoli's 22nd on the season and his 11th in his last eight games. He's raised his average from .162 to .214 in that stretch, batting .429 (12-for-28) in those eight games.

Mike Napoli hit a two-run homer and a two-run double to finish 2-for-3 with four RBI in Sunday's 6-1 win over the Angels.

Advice: Napoli had been as cold as the dark side of the moon for most of the season, but over the last two games he has been as hot as a moon that has flown out of orbit and just hit the sun. After a solo homer on Friday and two homers on Saturday, Napoli followed up with another huge game. He smashed a two-run homer off of Hector Santiago in the second inning, then hit a deep double to score two in the eighth to finish with four RBI and two runs scored. After slugging under .300 a week ago, he's dragged his slash-line up to .203/.304/.420 and has now hit eight home runs and driven in 21. Get him in your lineups immediately if you were waiting.

Mike Napoli hit two long homers and finished 2-for-3 with three RBI and a walk in Saturday's 8-3 win over the Angels.

Advice: Napoli absolutely owned Angels starter C.J. Wilson on Saturday, smacking a laser of a solo homer in the second inning, then uncorking a two-run moonshot in the sixth that completely cleared the Green Monster. The Red Sox are dying for some kind of offensive production and it would be a welcome sign if Napoli could find a groove. He's hitting a disappointing .193/.292/.385 with seven homers, 16 RBI and 17 runs scored over 135 at-bats.
