Utley hit .282/.397/.508 with 31 home runs, 93 RBI, 112 runs scored and 23 stolen bases this season. Recommendation: There were some concerns about how Utley would perform after offseason hip surgery but he showed those concerns were unfounded. His 23 stolen bases were a career high and he was not caught stealing on any of his attempts. |

2B Chase Utley connected for his third homer of the World Series in the seventh inning of Game 4. He is the 38th player to hit at least three homers in a World Series, the first since teammate Ryan Howard last year. All three of Utley's homers have come off Yankees LHP CC Sabathia. Utley is the second player to hit three homers off one pitcher in a single World Series, joining the Yankees' Yogi Berra in 1956 against the Dodgers' Don Newcombe. |

Utley hit his fifth homer of the World Series on Monday, tying Reggie Jackson's record for the most in one Fall Classic. Utley connected off Phil Coke in the seventh inning, giving the Philadelphia Phillies a 7-2 lead over the New York Yankees in Game 5 on Monday night. Utley hit a three-run shot in the first inning off A.J. Burnett. Advice: He is the second player to have two multihomer games in a World Series. Willie Aikens of Kansas City did it against the Phillies in 1980. Utley hit three solo shots off CC Sabathia, two in the opener and one in Game 4. Jackson hit five homers for the Yankees in 1977 against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Mr. October hit three in New York's clinching victory in Game 6. |
