Advice: Hamilton hit three grounders to first base and then struck out in his fourth and final plate appearance of the afternoon. He played three innings in left field. The veteran slugger is expected to begin a minor league rehab assignment later this week and should join the Rangers' active roster by the end of May.

Advice: Hamilton's surgically-repaired shoulder is no longer an issue, but he's being worked back into playing shape. He's been training at the Rangers' spring training complex and faced live pitching Saturday for the first time. The big club expects Hamilton to join them towards the end of the month.

Advice: Hamilton isn't ready to play the field yet, so he'll only bat. The former Angel underwent shoulder surgery during spring training and is slated to return in late May. In the meantime, Jake Smolinski and Carlos Peguero will fill in at left field. Hamilton has been in decline for years but a return to Texas may rejuvenate his fantasy value. 84 of his 192 career home runs have come at Globe Life Park.

Advice: Previous timetables had Hamilton possibly returning as soon as mid-May, but it appears the goal is to get him back late this month. Hamilton is recovered from shoulder surgery, but he's essentially in spring training mode right now and needs to work himself back into game shape. Rangers outfield instructor Dwayne Murphy said Wednesday that he's pleased with how Hamilton has looked in workouts. "I like what I see from him, especially the eagerness to play," Murphy said. "I have to put the reins on him because he wants to do a lot more. That is good."

Advice: Every scenario still had Hamilton ending up in Texas, Heyman said, but the Dodgers wanted to get involved in hopes of trading cash for prospects. The Dodgers, obviously, have no use for Hamilton, so there's no reason to think they're in the market for an outfielder despite the report.

Advice: The deal was officially announced by the Angels' Twitter account on Monday afternoon. Anaheim is expected to eat $68 million of the $80 million still owed to Hamilton from his original five-year, $125 million agreement with the club. He'll get a fresh restart in Texas after a falling out with the Angels brought on by his offseason alcohol and cocaine relapse. Hamilton is expected to be recovered from shoulder surgery in mid- to late-May and carries considerably more fantasy value with the Rangers than he would have with the Halos.Wed, Apr 29 Rotoworld
Advice: Which presumably means the trade sending him from Anaheim to Texas has been completed and will be formally announced on Monday afternoon. The Angels are reportedly going to eat $68 million of the $80 million owed to Hamilton. His deal will also now reportedly carry an opt-out clause for after the 2016 season. Hamilton is due back from shoulder surgery in mid-May. It's a pretty great deal for Texas if the 33-year-old outfielder can stay on the straight and narrow.

Advice: There had been rumblings that the two sides would clear all hurdles and get it done on Sunday afternoon, but it looks as though that was optimistic. The Angels are said to be willing to eat up to $68 million remaining on Hamilton's deal, and the beleaguered outfielder is expected to receive an opt-out clause in the contract following the 2016 season.Rotoworld
Advice: Yahoo Sports' Jeff Passan says the deal could be announced Sunday evening. The Angels are reportedly willing to eat $68 million of the $80 million remaining on Hamilton's contract in order to get something done. Hamilton will sacrifice $6 million of guaranteed money and will receive an opt-out clause in his deal after the 2016 season.

Advice: With the Angels reportedly willing to take on up to $68 million of the $80 million remaining on his deal, that could put the Rangers expense at only $7 million. Hamilton is also expected to receive an opt-out clause in his deal after the 2016 season
