To paraphrase Morgan Freeman's character from "The Shawshank Redemption": I can't even imagine the ballpark waste foulness these Tampa Bay Rays fans dug through in search of the Sean Rodriguez(notes) foul ball that oddly landed in a Tropicana Field garbage can on Saturday night.
Or maybe I just don't want to.
I know I've waxed poetic about the magic of the baseball souvenir, but — sorry, kid — there is absolutely no shot I'm digging through peanut shells, spilled beer, nacho cheez and who knows what else on regional television for a baseball.
The funny part about this video is that it ends with the security guard ruling that the ball must stay in the can after several adults exhibit, uh, trashy behavior in going after the souvenir. But if someone really wants to garbage pick with others in public, I say you let 'em wrestle until someone gets the reward. What rubbish!
UPDATE: A loyal Stewie points out that YouTube has a fan-shot video of the aftermath.
