Picking out a shirt for Sunday has to be about as difficult for Tiger Woods as it is for Jack Nicholson to decide whether to bring the sunglasses inside. But this morning, Tiger had an interesting decision: Is it OK to wear the traditional Sunday red even when it's not the final round?
Apparently it is. Tiger is decked out in his usual red Nike shirt this afternoon at the U.S. Open, despite the fact that it's only the third round and he'll be teeing it up two more times this tournament (early this evening in the fourth round and tomorrow morning when he'll conclude that round).
Tiger's outfits are scripted by Nike months in advance, so the reason for the red is probably more contractual than anything, but it's still strange to see Tiger decked out in his victory colors despite having to play over 25 more holes. (Not as strange as it is seeing Tiger 14 shots off the lead, though.)
Assuming Tiger wears the red tomorrow (and it'd be surprising if he didn't), it will be the second straight year he wore his Sunday red on a U.S. Open Monday. Last year, you may remember, Tiger broke out the same style shirt for his 18-hole playoff with Rocco Mediate (who also wore red, a move I thought was intentional by Mediate -- he denied it). Tomorrow, he'll be wearing it with a lot less on the line.

The way you said that, other than wearing red, is the way the Phil Worshippers have been at
Bethpage all day for their Lord Phil.
But as always you are the only who can be right on. :) Happy blogging master

Duval would be a great story...Mickelson would be more probable.
I just can't make any predictions...this has been a very strange tourney and still feel there is gonna be more crazy things to happen before this thing is all over...

2. Barnes
3. Weir
4. Duval
5. Phil
I don't think Tiger will win, Never Say Never, he can finish in the top 10 but he doesn't seem to be focused
like he normally is.

Barnes has been on the bogey train for the last few holes...Glover just tied him up on the 1st hole of the 4th round. Curious to see if Phil is able to make a move - his putter has not been his friend in the 4th round.

Sweet but dull! Sergio has personality but no game, sorry. VJ is just an out and out jerk. Maybe he could win on the women's tour, nevermind he doesn't believe in mixing the genders. Boo Weekley is kinda cool but almost never contends. Geoff Ogilvy is the most boring Australian I have ever seen, good golfer I guess. I thought Zack Johnson had some spunk and might help, but that never materialized and so far he's not even that great. Remember when
there was Jack, Arnie, Tom, Lee, Johnny, Gary, Ray, etc. I hope Tiger keeps winning for another decade or the tour is going to be relegated to the Golf Channel full time.
