At last, John Daly is using his crazed wardrobe for good rather than evil!
Say this for Daly: He's throwing himself into this whole career-rejuvenation thing. At Sunday's final round of the BMW PGA Championship in England, he donned a brilliant pink pair of pants to honor Amy Mickelson, who announced this past week that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. It's not the first time Daly has worn wacky pants, but it's probably the most meaningful.
"I had a pair, so I figured I'd do that for her today. I thought it would be a good gesture," Daly said, according to The Associated Press. "I know Phil very well and I know Amy. I've known them for a long time -- we've played the tour together. She's a great lady. She has always been a sweetheart to everybody."
He noted that he hasn't yet spoken with Amy or Phil Mickelson, adding that he didn't want to bother them at such a difficult time.
At the event, Daly made the cut but had two rotten weekend days, finishing in a tie for 72nd at +8. Still, he's doing all the right things in getting himself ready to make the appeal to rejoin the PGA in America. No need to be cynical about his wardrobe choice on Sunday; it's a great gesture and another demonstration of Daly's potential.

It's great to have the support of friends and you certainly showed yours.
This is a journey you hope nobody has to experience and my prayers go out to the Mickelson family.
God bless you and give you the strength you need.
