For the second time in two months, one of Aaron Hernandez's family members has died in an accident.
Hernandez's uncle, Robert Valentine, was killed when his moped hit a curb, he was launched and landed in a private driveway, hitting another curb. NBC News reported on his death. Valentine was not wearing a helmet, the report said.
Last month Thaddeus Singleton III, the son-in-law of Hernandez's uncle, died in a single-car crash as authorities were planning to question him in the former New England Patriots tight end's murder case. Hernandez was charged with first-degree murder in Massachusetts in the June 17 slaying of Odin Lloyd, 27, a semi-professional football player.
Valentine, who is from Hernandez's hometown of Bristol, Conn., was the brother of Terri Hernandez, Aaron's mother. In late June, police had impounded a SUV that might be related to a double homicide in Boston last year from the home of Hernandez's other uncle, Andres Valderrama.
Emergency personnel arrived to the scene at about 1 a.m. on Sunday, but Valentine was pronounced dead on the scene, NBC reported.
