Pittsburgh mayor Tebows to settle bet with Denver mayor

Mayor Ravenstahl Tebowing (KUSA)A bet between city mayors over their sports teams is not new, but after the Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Denver Broncos, Mayor Luke Ravenstahl from Pittsburgh had to pay up his bet in an unconventional manner. Instead of sending signature foods to Denver, Ravenstahl paid off his bet with Denver Mayor Michael Hancock by donning a Broncos jersey and Tebowing.

Ravenstahl pointed out that he, like all Pittsburghers, are good sports.

"This is not something I ever thought I'd have to do, and it's certainly not something I'm looking forward to," Ravenstahl said. "However, we're good sports here in Pittsburgh, and I want to congratulate Denver on a great win."

But really, Mayor Hancock? Pittsburgh has some darn good food that would have been a much better payoff. If the people of Denver elected me to represent them, I would ask, nay, demand Primanti Bros. capicola sandwiches for everyone.

    Thanks, Larry Brown Sports.

As Steeler fans my wife and I made it down to the game and had a blast. And for every jackass that used his Bronco allegiance to reflect his inner punk, there were 4 others that hi 5'd us back when we brought the good mojo. Fans should just dig the experience and not use the opp to be clowns. These franchises don't even know us so why should we lower ourselves to a level unbecoming of people. We all love the NFL so why not show it with class and grace? We had a blast Denver. Thanks for having the party. Didn't like the way it ended for us but couldn't help but appreciate the frenzied delirium that ensued on the final play. Amazing game to witness either way. Good luck this weekend. I hope they don't punk out like Seattle did last year and go beat the Pats now. Why wouldn't I?.....I just would! Word

Good to see he has got a sense of humor, being from the Boston area, I have seen a lot of these bets. Luckily for us, most have gone our way recently, but I seen a few where the looser weaseled out of paying. Mayor Rave is a stand up guy.

As always this man has done what he said in a bet. Perhaps the team will make it to where he does not have to pay up again...

one of my co-workers is an absolute DIE HARD steelers fan... he also has a huge temper... i lived in Denver for 4 years and my wife is born/raised in Denver and almost all of her family is still there... HOWEVER, i was honestly scared to say anything to my co-worker... i think he would of gone off BIG TIME... to me, that is what makes sports aweful.. BAD FANS.. but i love to hear about the good ones... thanks mr. major. great job.

I don't understand where all the negativity is coming from regarding Tebow. I know the Media hates Christians and Pittsburgh fans don't like losing but those of you who are "sick" of Tebow is very perplexing. He's a positive person who believes in a enduring truth (Jesus Christ) and that is his compass for his life. He's a smart, tough football player who gives his all every game. Tell me where the negative is? Is it jealousy, envy? Please tell me.

Even though I am a die-hard atheist, I have to ask "What's wrong with Tebowing?". Would you prefer Islaming, i.e. a Muslim on his knees over a rug?

How in the world did he get elected in Pittsburgh with a name like Ravens-tahl??

Had Pittsburgh won, would Denver's mayor been obligated to repicate Roethlisberger's most famous activity? Who would co-star as the inebrieted college girl?
