St. Louis Rams rookie kicker Greg Zuerlein hadn't missed a single field goal through the first five games of the season. That changed during the Rams' loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, as Zuerlein went 2-5 and failed to hit a 66-yard field goal as time expired.
The thing is, that kick had the distance. Take a look.
See? Though it sailed wide left, it hit the net.
What Zuerlein's performance on Sunday proved is that he has the power to knock out the NFL's field-goal record of 63 yards. He's a rookie, so he made the kind of mental mistakes that are part of having a rookie kicker. Though he was disappointing on Sunday, it's going to be fun to watch how his career unfolds.
