The handsome throwback uniforms you see pictured to the right will be won by the Chicago Bears twice this season, in games yet to be determined. More info, courtesy of the Bears' official website:

The Bears will wear a throwback uniform from the 1940s (pictured below) as part of a campaign honoring the “Monsters of the Midway” during select regular-season contests in 2010. The uniform will be officially unveiled during the Bears Expo Saturday at Soldier Field.

The “Monsters of the Midway” dominated the 1940s, winning four NFL titles in seven seasons (1940, 1941, 1943 and 1946). Those teams were led by Hall of Famers Danny Fortman, Sid Luckman, George McAfee, George Musso, Bronko Nagurski, Joe Stydahar and Clyde “Bulldog” Turner.

I really dig the look. It doesn't deviate too far from the Bears current look, and it contains enough bright orange to also be suitable for deer hunting or traffic directing. I think the big, goofy block font is charming, too.

Also, it has striped socks. I firmly believe that you can never go wrong with knee-high socks with three big horizontal stripes across the top. Perhaps they're not as awesome as vertically-striped socks, but they're in the neighborhood.

Approve or disapprove, Bears fans?
