Photo: Kansas City Royals fan wipes eye, wears tiny helmet

Despite the reappearance of George Brett in uniform — and not as a slugging hero but instead as the team's batting coach — being a Kansas City Royals fan is a hardscrabble existence. The Royals continue to underachieve under the watch of GM Dayton Moore and manager Ned Yost, and watching the team lose can get emotional — even for the hardest-core of Kansas City baseball fans.

Like the gentleman in the photo wearing the hipster glasses, country tank top and tiny Royals sundae helmet. Is he wiping a tear for the OPS of Mike Moustakas? And what kind of ice cream did he just have? These are questions Moore and the Royals braintrust must be answerable for.

Tiny helmet!
