Thailand's Atthaya Thitikul birdied five of the last seven holes in a bogey-free seven-under par 65 on Friday to take a two-stroke lead in the LPGA Mizuho Americas Open in New Jersey.Atthaya, who started the day four shots off the lead, opened with a birdie at the first at Liberty National in Jersey City, New Jersey, and added another birdie at the third.
Scottie Scheffler was in handcuffs before dawn in the back of a police car. Collin Morikawa set the early pace with five straight birdies that carried him to a 65. Xander Schauffele, fresh off his record start of 62, was not letting up in a bid to beat darkness.
Max Emberson won the CIF-SS boys golf individual title, Oaks Christian advanced as a team, and three other local players qualified for the state regional.
