Pavon grabs US Open lead with sizzling start at Pinehurst
Matthieu Pavon, trying to become only the second Frenchman to win a major title, made three birdies on the front nine at Pinehurst to grab a one-stroke lead in Saturday's third round of the US Open.But Aberg was short of the green with his approach at the fourth to stumble back just before Pavon took the lead with a birdie putt from just outside 21 feet at the seventh.

Italy 'too comfortable' in Albania win, says Spalletti
Luciano Spalletti saw plenty of room for improvement for Italy after his team came back from the fastest goal ever scored at a European Championship to beat Albania 2-1 at Euro 2024 on Saturday.But after watching Alessandro Bastoni and Nicolo Barella quickly turn the match around, Spalletti was unhappy at how Italy sat back on their slender lead in the second half instead of going for the decisive third goal.
