We're
heading into Week 7 on the NFL season, the Buffalo Bills are 2-4, and Terrell
Owens(notes) has caught just 15 balls through six games. Among the receivers in the NFL
who have more receptions than Owens are Dennis Northcutt(notes), Keenan Burton(notes), and
Kelley Washington(notes), none of whom are on the path to the Hall of Fame.
What have we heard from Owens? Not a peep. Not word one.
I felt like it was time to congratulate him on that fact. True, dozens of other receivers in the NFL aren't catching as many balls as they'd like, and the overwhelming majority of them haven't said a word about it, either, but I like to see personal growth. In life, it's not always easy to turn over a new leaf. So let's applaud Terrell Owens, as he sort of applauds himself:
"As of now, you see that I haven't had any gripes about anything," Owens told reporters Wednesday at the Buffalo Bills' facility. "I'm just going with the flow of what’s going on and going with the plays that are called."
The "as of now" part is a little bothersome, because it implies that this might be a temporary situation, but I'm willing to glance past that. The fact of the matter is that Terrell Owens isn't producing, the Bills aren't very good, and he's gone almost seven weeks without whining or throwing any teammates under the bus. With 100% seriousness, I congratulate him on that, because I wasn't sure he could do it.
It's a long season, though, and if the losses mount for the Bills (my guess is that they will), it'll be harder and harder for Terrell Owens to remain a team player. But you can do it, T.O. I believe in you.

Marshawn lynch, TO, Lee Evans, and Fred Thomas is an offense themselves, more talent than the offenses in SF/OAK/KC/TB/NYJ/CLE/TEN but with no coaching or offensive line it will never show. You see what Josh Mcdaniels and Mike singletary are doing with the exact same teams that struggled last year with a few tinks and some motiviation

LOL
Bill Cowher? You want TO to NEVER get passed to? That's a good way of wasting his talent.
He needs to be in a pass first offense like the Eagles or he will not produce.

Is it really that bad in the NFL that we have nothing to write about?
Ok so TO is not as "productive" as we all expected it ... who are we to expect anything? and why should TO fulfill OUR expectations?
It is funny to see all these so called experts saying that TO is done, finished, has "hit the wall" ... let me remind you all pro writers and amateur ones as well ... was it 3 years ago that the entire football world was calling Randy Moss done, finished while a Raiders? Look at him now?
Put TO with a Brady, Favre, Brees or Manning and you will see how many catches and TD he'll get.
I am growing so tired of the ignorance in these sports column and blogs from people who think they have all the answers ... as if a SINGLE player could make it happen. Take the greatest QB in the world put him behind a crappy O line and with bad WR and you will see NOTHING ... should he be called "finished" as well.
Even at the level he plays in today TO can still outplay and outsmart at least 90 percent of the entire NFL roster ... not bad for a guy that has "hit the wall"
Leave TO alone and find a real subject to write on. This is the NFL, 32 teams, hundreds of players, ton of coaches, assistants, owners and so on ... you can't tell me that you can only write about TO all the time.
