Gina Carano interview: Shy superstar finds dating difficult

Like a hibernating bear, Gina Carano has emerged from a winter slumber. She was hanging out this weekend at The Fight Expo in San Diego. Cage Writer made sure to delve into all the important issues: dating, her wardrobe and if she went into seclusion with her buddy, psycho female fighter Tonya Evinger.

There's nothing at all pervish about knowing every outfit Ms. Carano wears in public, is there? For those unfamiliar with MMA's biggest female name and her internet fame, she was the rage of the web in early November when photos emerged of Carano partying with the lesbian Evinger. 

Carano has been out of the spotlight since EliteXC went under in November. She still doesn't understand why her popularity is so immense:

"It's just a funny position for someone to be in, who's not that outward. I think are probably a lot of actors or people that are in the spotlight, that don't know how come they're there. So they're a little bit shy."

Carano worked with The Make A Wish Foundation during The Fight Expo escorting a group of teens around for much of the day. We did talk fighting. Join us for Part 2 of the conversation tomorrow.

    Great interview, I learned absolutely nothing about anything. It's like Billy Madison's speech, I may have just gotten dumber. Somebody get this girl a fight so she can have something interesting to say.

    She's hawt. Almost Gazzy Parman hawt, not quite at that level but hawt none the less. Now that the Elite XC fighters are back in action we can see Gina and Kimbo Slice light the MMA world on fire once again!
    Kimbo has been training with Don Frye and has accelarated his training regiment to prodigious limits. In a recent interview the Slicer said he hasn't touched a 40oz in several months keeping with the mantra of clean and sober living. He has taken up swimming to improve on his cardio and has even sparred with the likes of Rashad Evans, the Undertaker and Lyoto Machida.

    Gina is such an incredible sweetheart and is amazingly humble for someone who's hot and a cage fighter! If only all girls could be like her. What a great person she is!

    Cofield, I actually like your writing most of the time, but these interviews and articles about Carano make it seem like you've never had sex before. I realize a lot of interviews delve into odd stories and personal lives sometimes, but usually it's the exception as opposed to the rule. Any chance you could do that with her too?

    Why is her popularity so immense? Easy, thats because all these guys who do nothing but whack off all day want to sleep with her. LOSERS! You all are LOSERS!!! Carano is a tougher woman than you all are men! You men aren't 1/3 as tough as Carano is.

    The girls are jelous.... the men DROOL.... Lets see her fight Cyborg and end all speculation! I think shes the hottest thing in martial arts BY FAR... I also respect her abilities in the cage.
