The Marlins believe they're primed to move into first place this weekend. First, they'll have to get past a team that swept them in April.
With Philadelphia's loss on Thursday, while Florida was idle, the Marlins moved into a tie atop the NL East. The Marlins are preparing to host a three-game series against a last-place team, Pittsburgh. But winning the series against the Pirates isn't automatic.
Back on April 20, the Marlins arrived in Pittsburgh flying high with an 11-1 record. They got swept in three games.
