Player Notes
Juan Lagares (hamstring) has begun running at the Mets' spring training complex.

Advice: It's a good sign given that Lagares landed on the DL just a week ago. He's eligible to return on April 30, and it sounds like he might have a shot to be back at that time.

Juan Lagares told the Newark Star-Ledger that his pulled right hamstring is "not that bad."

Advice: "I feel better now," Lagares said. Lagares received the results of his MRI Wednesday and met with the Mets' trainer to talk about treatment plans. He said he believes the injury is a one-to-two week injury, suggesting that he could be back after the 15 days are up. The Mets, however, are going to be cautious with their center fielder.

Mets placed OF Juan Lagares on the 15-day disabled list with a pulled right hamstring.

Advice: It's not clear what exactly the MRI on Lagares' hamstring revealed, but obviously it was bad enough that a disabled list stint was needed. How long Lagares will be sidelined is up in the air. Kirk Nieuwenhuis has replaced Lagares on the Mets' roster.

Mets manager Terry Collins said Tuesday that a roster move with Juan Lagares (hamstring) won't be made until he returns from an MRI.

Advice: He's expected to officially land on the DL soon, as the Mets are already listing Kirk Nieuwenhuis in Tuesday's lineup. Lagares was injured during Monday's game while running to first base.

Juan Lagares (hamstring) will be placed on the 15-day disabled list.

Advice: The Mets have yet to make the official announcement, but Kirk Nieuwenhuis will replace him on the active roster. Curtis Granderson (forearm, rib cage, knee) also left Monday's game, but he will avoid the disabled list for now.

Juan Lagares (hamstring) will likely be placed on the 15-day disabled list.

Advice: Lagares pulled his right hamstring in the seventh inning of Monday's game. The Mets will wait to see how he feels Tuesday before making a roster move, but they are already planning to bring a player to Arizona just in case. Expect him to miss a couple of weeks at the very least. It's a tough break, as Lagares is off to a solid start with the bat and has been playing his usual excellent defense in center field.

Juan Lagares left Monday's game with a pulled right hamstring.

Advice: Lagares suffered the injury after reaching on a fielder's choice in the seventh inning. It wouldn't be surprising if a trip to the disabled list is in his future. Chris Young (quad) isn't eligible to be activated until Friday, so the Mets could call up Kirk Nieuwenhuis for a few days. Bobby Abreu is another option, but he'd have to be added to the 40-man roster.

Juan Lagares left Monday's game against the Diamondbacks with an apparent right hamstring injury.

Advice: Lagares reached on a fielder's choice in the seventh inning but was seen grabbing his hamstring as he crossed the base. We'll have to see what the Mets say after the game, but it's an injury that more often than not results in a trip to the disabled list. Lagares is off to a .314/.345/.471 start at the plate for the Mets.

Juan Lagares went 2-for-4 with a run scored in the Mets' loss to the Angels on Sunday.

Advice: Lagares was the only Mets hitter to have a multi-hit game, as he picked up two of the team's six hits in the contest. The center fielder was in danger of losing his roster spot near the end of camp, but he's now batting .319 and has been one of the team's best regulars through two weeks of play. He's giving the team plenty of reasons to continue starting him going forward.
