Player Notes
Jake Marisnick connected for a solo homer, drew a walk, and stole a base in Friday's 4-3 win over the Mariners.

Advice: Marisnick has hit safely in nine straight games and is now batting .383 with three home runs and 11 RBI on the year. He's also up to nine stolen bases, which ties him with teammate Jose Altuve for the American League lead. His BABIP is well north of .400 right now, but he has the pop and speed to be valuable in mixed leagues all season.

Jake Marisnick continued finding ways to produce Wednesday, finishing 2-for-4 with an RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases against the Padres.

Advice: Marisnick had a double in the game, but it was in the ninth inning that his skillset was fully on display. The outfielder knocked an RBI single off all-everything closer Craig Kimbrel before stealing second, stealing third and scoring on a throwing error. He's now got eight steals to go with a .389/.433/.648 line, 10 RBI and 12 runs scored. Marisnick has always had a tantalizing combination of power and speed and, while he won't keep this up forever, we could be seeing the start of a breakout year for the 24-year-old.

Jake Marisnick is not in the Astros' lineup Tuesday.

Advice: Marisnick is one of the club's hottest hitters, but he's sitting in favor of Evan Gattis with the designated hitter spot not available in San Diego. Gattis is in left field, with Colby Rasmus sliding over to handle center.

Jake Marisnick (quad) went 2-for-4 with a homer, two RBI, two stolen bases, and three runs scored in his return to the Astros' lineup Sunday against the A's.

Advice: Marisnick sat out Friday and Saturday due to soreness in his right quad, but he returned with a vengeance on Sunday afternoon in Oakland. The 24-year-old center fielder is now batting .364/.408/.591 with two home runs and six stolen bases in 15 games this season. Hopefully he'll start moving up the Astros' batting order. Marisnick has hit ninth in all 15 of his starts so far.

Jake Marisnick (quad) is expected to sit out again on Sunday.

Advice: Marisnick is dealing with some soreness in his right quad area. He was able to do some running prior to Saturday's game with no issues, but the Astros are expected to rest him one more day. "Jake, we’ll well monitor him day to day," manager A.J. Hinch said. "He’s available but I’m going to try not to use him unless I have to. He’s bouncing around fine. I’m hopeful for (Sunday), but if it’s not (Sunday) and he needs another day we’re going to still be cautious with him."

Jake Marisnick was scratched from the Astros starting lineup on Friday due to right leg discomfort.

Advice: Marisnick will also sit out on Saturday as a precautionary measure. The young outfielder felt something while running the bases in Wednesday's contest. Robbie Grossman is getting the start in his place on Friday and batting ninth against the Athletics.
