Matt Adams is not in the Cardinals starting lineup for Saturday's contest against the Pirates.

Advice: With left-hander Francisco Liriano on the mound, Adams will take a seat in favor of Mark Reynolds. The 26-year-old slugger should be back at first base for Sunday's series finale.

Mon, May 4 Rotoworld
Matt Adams had a walk-off RBI single in Friday's 2-1 win over the Pirates in 10 innings.

Advice: Rob Scahill retired the first two batters he faced in the 10th, but then Jon Jay singled and Matt Carpenter doubled. Pirates manager Clint Hurdle elected to intentionally walk Matt Holliday to load the bases, but Adams delivered an opposite-field single to end it. The 26-year-old has really turned things on over the past few days, with nine hits in his last 18 at-bats to go along with one home run and seven RBI.

Sat, May 2 Rotoworld
Matt Adams finished 3-for-5 with a homer and three RBI in Thursday's 9-3 rout of the Phillies.

Advice: Adams singled in the first inning, slugged a two-run bomb in the third inning, and then whacked an RBI single that scored Matt Holliday in the bottom of the fifth inning. Adams went 8-for-13 with six RBI in the Cardinals' four-game series against the Phillies and now carries a .304/.338/.493 slash line with 14 RBI through 20 total games this season. "Big Mayo" should continue to pound righties all year.

Fri, May 1 Rotoworld
Matt Adams went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored as the Cardinals topped the Phillies 11-5 on Tuesday.

Advice: Adams and the Cardinals jumped on Phillies rookie starter Severino Gonzalez from the beginning, with Adams delivering an RBI single in the first inning. He added a sacrifice fly RBI later in the game. Adams has taken deserved heat in recent days for his ineffectiveness against lefties, but the big man is still hitting righties to the tune of .271/.314/.417 this year. Adams is batting .267/.308/.400 overall.

Thu, Apr 30 Rotoworld
Matt Adams is not in the Cardinals starting lineup on Saturday.

Advice: It appears to be just a routine day of rest for the young slugger. Mark Reynolds is drawing the start in his place at first base and will hit fifth against Wily Peralta and the Brewers.
