Player Notes
Danny Espinosa hit a solo homer and drew a walk Friday against the Phillies.

Advice: It was his second home run of the season. There was a lot of talk about Espinosa giving up switch-hitting, but he has seen really good results from the left side of the plate in the early going. He has been seeing an uptick in playing time after Dan Uggla's slow start and that should continue, especially if Yunel Escobar needs to miss some time.

Danny Espinosa has resumed switch-hitting.

Advice: Espinosa batted exclusively from the right side during spring training, but he hit lefty late during Saturday's game. It's possible he'll hit some right-handed against righties if he feels comfortable versus that particular pitcher. "It’s a mutual decision," Nationals manager Matt Williams said. "We want him to be free of mind when he gets out there. He hit a lot right-handed in spring, so he’s got experience doing that so if he gets a match-up that he feels comfortable with, righty-righty, he can do that."
