Player Notes
Trevor Plouffe went 1-for-4 with an RBI single in Sunday's loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Plouffe's RBI base knock off Yankees reliever Justin Wilson merely acted as cosmetic effect in the 7-2 loss. He's hitting .255/.315/.457 with 14 homers and 55 RBI and looks to be on his way to a 20+ homer season for the first time since 2012.

Trevor Plouffe went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored Friday against the Yankees.

Advice: Plouffe has gone deep in back-to-back games and now has four home runs in his last eight contests. He's batting .259 with 14 home runs and a .785 OPS on the year. He has a real chance at a 20-plus homer, 90-RBI season.

Trevor Plouffe went 2-for-4 and hit his second career grand slam Friday against the A's.

Advice: Going strictly by history, it had to be one of the most unlikely slams of the year. Sonny Gray had never given one up in his career, and Plouffe, who fares better versus lefties than righties, entered the night as a .189/.234/.264 hitter with one homer in 53 at-bats with the bases loaded. Plouffe has homered in back-to-back games, giving him 12 homers this year.
