Player Notes
Trevor Plouffe underwent surgery Monday to repair a fractured left forearm.

Advice: Plouffe injured his forearm last Wednesday and was told by one doctor that surgery wasn't necessary, but he apparently went through with the procedure after getting a second opinion. Either way, it's expected that he'll be ready for spring training.

Trevor Plouffe will get a second opinion on his fractured left forearm.

Advice: Plouffe was already told by one doctor that surgery isn't necessary, but he just wants to be certain. Either way, it sounds like he should be fine by spring training.

Trevor Plouffe will not need surgery on his fractured left forearm.

Advice: Plouffe suffered the injury Wednesday when A.J. Pollock's leg hit his arm on a slide into third base. The good news is that he won't need surgery, but he will wear a cast for 6-8 weeks. He should be fine for spring training next year.

Trevor Plouffe is done for the season after being diagnosed with a fractured left forearm.

Advice: Plouffe suffered the injury Wednesday after hitting his left arm on the Diamondbacks' A.J. Pollock's knee as he slid into third base. It's not clear at this point if he'll need surgery. While it's certainly an unfortunate ending to his season, Plouffe should be fine by the time spring training rolls around. His season concludes with a .258/.328/.423 batting line, 14 homers and 80 RBI.

Trevor Plouffe left Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks after hitting his left forearm on A.J. Pollock's knee.

Advice: The Twins should have more on Plouffe's status later Wednesday. Plouffe had a sac fly and drew a couple walks before exiting.

Trevor Plouffe had a four-hit effort against the Diamondbacks Tuesday, finishing 4-for-4 with a run scored.

Advice: The only thing lacking in Plouffe's game was some run production, as all four of his hits went for singles and none drove in a run. Still, it was another good game for the third baseman, who has 15 hits in his last 38 at-bats. The hot stretch has his overall line at .258/.326/.423.

Trevor Plouffe delivered a walk-off RBI single in a 5-4 win over the Indians in 10 innings on Friday.

Advice: Danny Santana and Brian Dozier each singled to begin the 10th inning before Joe Mauer was intentionally walked to load the bases. Kyle Crockett managed to get rookie Kennys Vargas to strike out swinging, but Terry Francona brought in Josh Tomlin to face Plouffe, who dropped a single into center field to end it. Plouffe hasn't been able to maintain the form he showed in August, but he's had a productive year on the whole, batting .251/.321/.422 with 14 home runs and 79 RBI.
