Advice: The Mariners landed Corey Hart in free agency and Logan Morrison via trade on Thursday, so the first base market is beginning to work in the Mets' favor. Rubin writes that the Mets "aren't giving him away," so it's clear that they want an interesting piece in return.

Advice: Duquette says the Mets asked for "Tyler Thornburg, among others." The Brewers are viewing Davis as a back-up plan at first base in case they're not able to re-sign Corey Hart, but it appears Ike is no longer an option. Milwaukee had been the team most often connected to Davis, so it's unclear where this leave the market for him.

Advice: Re-signing Hart appears to be the Brewers' first choice at first base, but Davis looks like their backup plan. If he could manage to re-discover his power stroke, Davis could take off at Miller Park. Martino says the Brew Crew has "done extensive background work on him." Hart is expected to make a decision as soon as Tuesday night, so we could find out soon whether Davis is a fit in Milwaukee.

Advice: He points out that it's possible both will be traded, but Davis is more likely of the two to wind up elsewhere. The Brewers appear to have the most interest in trading for Davis at the moment. Murphy is drawing interest from the Orioles.

Advice: Ike Davis and Lucas Duda are both on the trade block for New York, with the former the heavy favorite to be moved. The Brewers are on the market for a first baseman, so it could just be a matter of due diligence. The club is also interested in bringing back Corey Hart.

Advice: It has been known since the 2013 closed that the Mets were looking to deal one of their first baseman, and it now appears that they would prefer to keep Duda. While Davis certainly possesses impressive power, his putrid .205/.326/.334 line from a season ago is likely to limit the Mets potential return in any deal.

Advice: The team has been open to moving one of its first basemen since the season ended. Davis would likely fetch more in a trade than Duda, but neither would likely be enough by himself to get a starting shortstop in return. The Rays and Brewers are two teams who may be potential trade partners.
