Player Notes
Ike Davis went 2-for-4 and hit his second grand slam of the young season Monday in the Pirates' 6-5 win over the Reds.

Advice: Davis was the Pirates' No. 6 hitter tonight, but there's the chance he could replace Pedro Alvarez in the cleanup spot if he keeps this up. After all, the Pirates did just that with Justin Morneau after grabbing him from the Twins last season, bumping Alvarez down to sixth in the order. Davis is 5-for-13 for his new team, and he's hitting .270 overall.

Ike Davis finished 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored Saturday in his Pirates debut.

Advice: Davis doubled in his first at-bat, walked in his second at-bat, and singled in his third at-bat. He's expected to start versus right-handers and seems poised to hit near the middle of the Pirates' batting order, making him a worthwhile add in most mixed fantasy leagues. Davis tallied 32 home runs and 90 RBI in 2012 with the Mets.

Ike Davis is in the lineup and batting sixth for his Pirates debut on Saturday.

Advice: Davis, who was acquired from the Mets on Friday, is expected to provide much needed power and run production in the middle of the Pirates lineup. If he's available in any fantasy leagues, he's certainly worth the gamble now that his outlook for everyday at-bats has improved.

Pirates acquired 1B Ike Davis from the Mets in exchange for RHP Zachary Thornton and a player to be named.

Advice: The 27-year-old slugger has fallen off after a breakthrough 2012 campaign where he smashed 32 homers and drove home 90 runs. The change of scenery, and the likelihood that he receives everyday at-bats, should be a tremendous boost to his fantasy value affords him the chance to get his career back on track.

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports that the Pirates and Mets have come to an agreement on a deal that would send Ike Davis to the Pirates.

Advice: No word yet on the terms of the deal or the other players involved. Davis should be in line for regular playing time in Pittsburgh, which would be a nice boost to his fantasy value. Similarly, Lucas Duda no longer has to fight for at-bats at first base with the Mets, and should see his value soar as well.
